The Mortgage Foreclosure/Mechanics Lien Section of the Chancery Division consists of Calendars 52 through 69.

Calendars 52, 53, and 54 are mechanics lien calendars and judges assigned to these calendars hear all actions and proceedings concerning:

• mechanics lien rights under contracts, either expressed or implied
• liens on chattels for labor or storage and
• other lien remedies available under 770 ILCS 60/0.01 et seq.

Calendars 55 through 64 are general mortgage foreclosure calendars and judges assigned to these calendars hear all actions and related proceedings initiated under the Illinois Mortgage Foreclosure Act, 735 ILCS 5/15-1101 et seq. 

Calendars 65, 66, and 67 are residential vacant and abandoned mortgage foreclosure calendars and judges assigned to the calendars hear uncontested mortgage foreclosure cases for residential properties that are vacant and abandoned pursuant to General Administrative Order 2011-03 and General Administrative Order 2012-01.

Calendars 68 and 69 are the post-mediation mortgage foreclosure calendars and judges assigned to these calendars preside over all follow up status hearings for residential mortgage foreclosure cases that have been referred to mediation.  The judges also serve as back-up judges for those judges assigned to Calendars 55 through 64.  Click here to download a copy of the Mortgage Foreclosure Courtroom Procedures.
