The Probate Division Minor Estates section comprises two courtrooms. Petitions for Guardianship of the Person only are heard in Courtroom 1806, while Petitions for Guardianship of both the Person and Estate are heard in Courtroom 1810. Any individual attempting to obtain guardianship of a minor is required to file a petition and a birth certificate of the minor. He or she must also consent to have a background check completed.
