The Circuit Court of Cook County provides court interpreters to facilitate the participation in court proceedings of persons who either:
- do not speak English;
- do not speak English as their primary language and who have limited ability to read, speak, write or understand English (known as Limited English Proficiency or LEP); or
- are deaf or hard of hearing.
Court interpreters help to ensure that all persons are given equal access to justice and that court proceedings function efficiently and effectively.
The services of court foreign language interpreters and American Sign Language interpreters are provided at no cost to the individual in need of the service.
If you do not speak English, have limited English Proficiency (LEP) or are deaf or hard of hearing and will be coming to court and are in need of an interpreter, please select from the tabs below.
