The Chancery Advice Desk provides free legal consultations to persons representing themselves in cases pending in the Chancery Division.  Assistance is also available for petitions for change of name. 

The desk is staffed by attorneys who provide legal advice and assistance with simple court pleadings. The attorneys do not represent clients in court and cannot offer ongoing services.

The Chancery Advice Desk is a cooperative effort of the Office of the Chief Judge of the Circuit Court of Cook County and the Chicago Legal Clinic, Inc.
