Children's Advocacy Room Programs

Take-Home-A Book Program
The Take-Home-A Book Program gives every registered child an age appropriate book. Books are donated by private citizens, non-profit agencies such as Project Books, Etc., The Chicago Bar Association, The Young Lawyers Section of the Chicago Bar, The Children’s Law Project, and Chicago Public Schools.

Volunteer Program
Individuals interested in volunteering may complete a Children’s Advocacy Room Volunteer Application at any Children's Advocacy Room of their choice. Also, applications are available at the Office of the Chief Judge, Human Resources Section or the director of the Children's Advocacy Room Program, both located at 69 W. Washington, Suite 3300, Chicago, Illinois  60602. Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age.

Exceptions are made regarding age for church youth programs with supervisors who are required to accompany the youth and oversee arts and crafts projects they bring to complete with the children. Corporations seeking to perform community service hours for team building may also volunteer.

It is important to note that everyone interested in participating in the Children’s Advocacy Rooms Volunteer Program is required to submit to a background screening, including supervisors.
