The Hon. Charles Beach elected new Chief Judge of the Circuit Court of Cook County

The Hon. Charles Beach was elected today to a first term overseeing the Circuit Court of Cook County. Beach secured the victory by a vote of 144 to 109, with one spoiled ballot. 

The election was held this afternoon in the Richard J. Daley Center’s Jury Assembly Room. The Hon. Shelley Sutker-Dermer, chair of the Judicial Election Committee and presiding judge of the Second Municipal District, confirmed the total of votes cast by Cook County’s Circuit Judges. Beach, who serves in the Law Division, defeated Chief Judge Timothy C. Evans, who was seeking his ninth term, and the Hon. Nichole C. Patton, also of the Law Division. 

Beach’s’ new three-year term will be begin on Monday, December 1.
