Q. Who comprises the client population served by the juvenile court?

A.

Minors under the age of 17 who are charged with violating or attempting to violate any federal or state law, county or municipal ordinance are processed in the Juvenile Justice Division along with minors under the age of 18 who require authoritative intervention of the court to address truant and/or ungovernable behavior. Minors who are victims of child abuse or neglect are subject to jurisdiction in the Child Protection Division.
